I'm so glad you've come to visit me at Beloved Bake Shop where my aim is to help you help others be loved. I love to celebrate with the people I care about, cheer people on when amazing things happen in their lives, support them in the challenging times, and connect meaningfully with others - all with delicious sweet treats. I hope you'll give me the opportunity to help you do the same with those important people in your life.
My Story
My baking journey began on my first birthday in small-town Saskatchewan. As the youngest of four children, I watched my mother teach herself cake decorating from Wilton books, creating special treats for our family celebrations that eventually expanded to hundreds of others in our community. I grew up sneaking tablespoons of her American buttercream (made by the ice-cream-pail-full!) and inherited my dad's midnight sweet tooth for chocolate chip cookies and milk.
When I started my own family, I naturally followed in my mother's footsteps, teaching myself to decorate cakes for my children's birthdays. After 20 years in accounting, I finally took the plunge in spring 2023 to pursue my passion professionally.

My home bakery operates with all proper credentials—City of Calgary development and land use approval, AHS approval, a valid business license, and commercial liability insurance. But beyond the paperwork, what truly sets my baking apart is the commitment to quality and sustainability:

I regularly host in-person decorating workshops where you can learn hands-on skills in a fun, supportive environment. For those who prefer to learn at their own pace, my digital decorating course is offered twice per year, allowing you to master professional techniques from the comfort of your own kitchen.
The Meaning Behind the Name
My name, Amanda, means "Beloved" or "Worthy of Love"—which inspired both my bakery's name and mission. Just as desserts have always been central to celebrations and comfort in difficult times throughout my life, Beloved Bake Shop aims to help people "be loved" through thoughtfully crafted treats and by empowering others to create their own special moments.
I hope I'll have the opportunity to help you share the love through Beloved Bake Shop, whether through my bespoke luxury desserts or by teaching you to create your own masterpieces.
